Fire Safety Training in Schools

Schools rank among the places with the greatest number of people. In the same way, seeing as most of the people in school are not as mature and as independent as the people off school, it follows that the chances of accidents happening in school are far greater.

This is the main reason why it is so important for fire safety training programs to be integrated into the schooling system. The main stakeholders are students, teacher and parents and also the people who work at these schools. Therefore, all of these stakeholders should be trained on fire safety.

This way, in case a fire occurs, the main stakeholders, especially the students will know how to act. Schools need to have a fire safety training program with various sections and chapters. For starters, there should be a fire squad that will help to curb and fight the fire in case it breaks out.

In the same way, under the fire safety training docket, the school will need to procure and update their fire fighting equipment. Therefore, should a fire break out, the squad will be able to make use of the equipment to fight the fire even without having to call in the fire department.

The other stakeholders will also participate in the fire safety training especially through fire drills. This will teach them the places to assemble in case a fire breaks out. During the training, they should be taught what to do in case they are the first witnesses to the fire such as by alarming the necessary authorities as to the outbreak.

To conclude, schooling institutions hold the future of the world. The safety and security of our young can never be compromised. This is why fire safety training should be made compulsory to all school. In the long run, it will pay off in terms of less casualties to fire.
