Construction is one of the most dangerous work sectors with increased number of death and injury cases in almost every part of the world. It is a kind of work that comes with great risks on daily basis. Construction site safety involves a lot of and different areas which aid in keeping employees safe. Some of the construction safety measures include the following; steel erection, chemical and electrical hazards, wood truss construction and fall protection.

One organization which has been taking care of the rights of construction workers is the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) and it requires all employers to provide a working environment that is free and safe from hazards. According to this organization, 1000 workers die yearly due to construction related accidents. Most accidents are classified in four categories which include; a situation where a worker is caught between objects, struck by objects, due to electrocution and due to falls.

These cases of fatal death and accidents can only be avoided and prevented through proper construction site safety training; safety precaution and every worker ensuring that he value each other and use common sense. The government has been trying to enforce safety and they involved individuals have been setting health laws which can be used to curb these hazards. The employers are also urged by the government to ensure that they provide safe and healthy working environment.

To curb this hazards the workers should also take construction site safety training provided by their employers, construction union or safety society and improve their skills and add more know how. They should also know their rights and be responsible by observing rules and regulations. When it comes to use of equipments, you should use the correct tool for the right purpose. And you should also wear and use the correct protective equipment for instance a helmet. Finally, if you notice any hazardous situation at your workplace, you should take immediate action and report the matter to respective body or your employer.
